Panpsychism - Panconsciousness

It has become pervasive in many of my conversations, the question of what kinds of emergent consciousness might be afoot at many scales (evolution of the universe to contemporary collective human-endeavor consciousness).

Panpsychism - the view that mind or a mindlike aspect is a fundamental and ubiquitous feature of reality.

Panpsychism in it's most simple description marries consciousness and monism.

Consciousness invokes awareness, sentience, sapience and self-awareness.

My particular perspective on panpsychism invokes "emergence" and "collective consciousness".

I am not stuck, myself, on the "hard problem of consciousness" or the question of Qualia... the very fact of having sensations, a sense of self, point of view, etc...  but do acknowledge that it is not only a Hard Problem but in some sense central.

The primary motivation of my maunderings has been trying to understand how (human?) consciousness came to be.   What qualities of complexity might contribute to a whole range of measures of consciousness from the simplest to the (current) apex of complexity?

I can't define "Consciousness" but I do know it when I experience it (not necessarily when I *see* it).
